Profitability of biogas plants

Profitability of biogas plants

The profitability of biogas plants is determined by a number of factors: The substrate costs are a considerable cost factor, with a share of more than 50% of the variable expenses*. Another crucial factor for the profitability of the plant is the utilisation rate of the plant.

More cost-effective production of substrates with SILASIL ENERGY®

Using SILASIL ENERGY® significantly reduces the loss of energy during storage and leads to improved utilisation of the substrate in the fermenter.*

With SILASIL ENERGY®, you can achieve a higher biogas yield with the same initial substrate quantity. In other words, to produce the same amount of biogas, you need 9.8% less floor space!

Methane yield - batch tests with three different silage maize substrates

Methane yield test with SILASIL ENERGY®

SILASIL ENERGY® pays for itself

SILASIL ENERGY® increases the methane yield and thus the profitability of your substrate production. In the following example of maize silage, the use of SILASIL ENERGY® resulted in an additional profit of € 236 per hectare!

Calculation example: Use of SILASIL ENERGY® in silage maize

Maize yield: 40 t fresh maize/ha (= 14 t dry matter/ha, dry substance content of 35 %)
Energy content: 0.35 kWhel/kg fresh maize
Feed-in compensation: € 0.192/kWh

Additional profit achieved with SILASIL ENERGY®
