Fermentation Biology with Energy Crops

The ↓ BC. concept enables the formulation of tailor-made micronutrient mixtures for each biogas plant, based on accurate analysis and scientific nutrient requirement data, thus maximising fermenter efficiency.

Depending on the needs ↓ of the biogas facility, the granulated micronutrient mixtures ↓ BC.PRO® and ↓ BC.COMPACT or the liquid promote the optimal utilisation of renewable raw materials in the biogas fermenter.

What is special about BC.PRO®, BC.COMPACT and BC.TEplex

The BC. mixtures compensate for deficiency, unfavourable conditions and low availability of micronutrients.

The mixtures are factory-specific, formulated and produced on the basis of accurate iCAP spectrometric analyses and in accordance with scientifically established requirement values.

The tailor-made BC.PRO® products can be used in plants of any output capacity.
Depending on the circumstances of the biogas plant, the BC.PRO® micronutrient mixtures can be supplemented with other specific active agents.

 

The liquid alternative:

BC.TEplex

To complement the well-proven granular BC.PRO® micronutrient mixtures Schaumann BioEnergy has developed the liquid BC.TEplex line for use in fully automated biogas plants.

With stable fermenter output:

BC.COMPACT

The BC.COMPACT line is characterised by low dosage and an excellent price-output ratio.
The more highly concentrated BC.COMPACT products are used after the plant has been set for a stable, optimal output level. Compatibility with active substances is limited.

BC.PRO® and specific combinations of active substances

BC.PRO® START Developed for the start-up phase. The mixture of micronutrients, iron compounds and buffer substances creates an optimal environment for the process biology and effectively reduces the concentration of hydrogen sulphide in the biogas.

ZYM - ensures rapid and extensive hydrolysis and creates the basis for optimal fermentation and an increased methane yield.

Ncon – reduces the inhibitory action in nitrogen-rich facilities, especially in plants using large amounts of protein-rich substrates.

Scon – binds the hydrogen sulphide in the substrate.

SLcon – promotes the disintegration of settled biomass at the bottom and floating biomass at the top and prevents biomass layers from reforming.

VIScon – homogenises the fermentation substrate and reduces wear and tear of pumps and stirrers.

SPcon – Reduces and prevents foam formation by altering specific physical characteristics of the substrate.

PHcon – supplements buffer substances, thereby increasing buffering capacity and preventing fluctuations in the process operation.

ThioB – optimises the biological desulphurisation of biogas in external solid bed systems.

Fermentable packaging

In view of their composition and higher concentration, the BC.COMPACT products are classified as hazardous material. They are therefore supplied only in fermentable bags which can be put into the fermenter unopened.

The liquid product formulation enables automated dosing of the individual micronutrient mixtures without causing corrosion of machine parts. The products are non-toxic, non-caustic and frost-proof.

The trace elements, protected in complexes, allow small dosage levels, a prerequisite for efficient supplementation of very large fermenter volumes.
